Using Borax on My Scalp for Hair Loss: My Personal Experience

Using Borax on My Scalp for Hair Loss: My Personal Experience

I’ve Been Using Borax on My Scalp for a Year — My Personal Experience

For the past year, I've been washing my scalp with a borax solution, and for me it has been a complete game changer. I live with lupus, and one of the most difficult symptoms I've experienced is significant hair loss. I tried numerous approaches, including hair growth supplements, but nothing seemed to make a noticeable difference.

Everything changed once I started using a borax rinse on my scalp several times a week. Since making it part of my routine, I've personally noticed a significant improvement, and it's become something I continue to use regularly.

My Borax Scalp Routine

Here's exactly how I prepare and use the solution:

  • ½ cup borax
  • 1 quart (about 1 liter) mason jar
  • Fill the jar with distilled water

I shake the jar well before every use since the borax settles over time.

How I Apply It

  • Pour some of the solution directly onto my scalp.
  • Massage it in gently with my fingertips.
  • Leave it on for about 3–5 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly with water.

I repeat this routine approximately three times each week. There's nothing complicated about it, and it only takes a few minutes.

My Experience

For me personally, this routine has made a remarkable difference compared to everything else I previously tried. While I can't say it will work for everyone, it has become an important part of my hair care routine, especially while managing lupus-related hair loss.
