  1. I would love to try the Chili Mac, BUT I can't find the amount of ground beef, tomatoes or water. And what is the yield? (number of servings)

    1. 3 cups of macaroni doubles the yield after cooking, and you are a cook so you add ingredients to taste. Unless this is all you are eating then it should feed 4 people.

    2. I found these jar recipes originally on a website called Razzle Dazzle Recipes. The directions and complete ingredient lists are there.

    3. I am Cathy, not Anonymous. I just blocked you. You must think you are superior to everyone else that just wants to share and/or improve their skills. I don't need to waste my time on your obsession

    4. I would say 1 pound of your choice ground meat (chicken and turkey is good, too) for the default recipe. I know the box says 2/3 cup of water and 2 1/4 cups of milk for standard recipe. I have this memorized, it's my favorite HH box. Also the Velveeta version is delish!
But I guess we order the powdered sour cream online or can use the stuff in the cup or tube from the store? My little boy loves sour cream on everything.

  2. Can you list the measurements for added ingredients when cooking? Like how much water, chopped tomatoes (fresh or canned) and sauce. Thanks so much

    1. Same as the box mixes 354ml can tomatoes 1lb ground beef 2-3/4 cups water I believe is the list, but just look it up on google it will tell you.

  3. Please add the amount of water, tomatoes, etc. to prepare these meals. Thank you!

What is the amount of water and other ingredients when you cook these please?

  6. Is this actually a psychological experiment to find out how many people will ask the same question about water? Clearly either no one is reading these comments or they are just laughing at our frustration.

    1. Laughing, because if you ever have cooked then you always cook to your taste, defiantly psych test here

    2. Funny to most, but some are new at cooking and want to get it right. AND yes, they could just read the reply to other comments. But it also costs nothing to be kind.

  7. After adding whatever canned or fresh add enough water to cover pasta then simmer

    1. Water isn’t a “too taste” ingredient. It is a basic ingredient that should have been included in the recipe, but the author is being obstinate.

  8. Like everyone else, how much water do you use for cooking?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah, need a bit more instruction on amounts of stuff besides what's in the jar (dry mix and pasta). Not everyone is an experienced cook.

  10. 2 and 3/4 cups of water, perhaps....See Hamburger Helper box that calls for 2 1/4 cups of milk and 1/2 cup of hot water

    1. I was thinking about 2 1/2 to 3 cups of water. At least enough to just covers the pasta, if it's to dry add lil more to your satisfaction

      Delete
    2. That would better for the beef stroganoff

      Delete
    3. I would suggest that you put the amounts needed or even suggested instead of telling people the same as the box says because that is telling people they need to go to the store and either write down the directions from a box or buy the box so they have all the directions!

  11. When cooking in my Instant Pot I use 1 cup water for each cup of pasta. I would add another cup for the 1 t. bouillon, so I will try using 4 cups water for this.

  12. In place of tomatoe sauce, why not use tomatoe powder? Then tomatoes can be added to person liking.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Do you use an 8 oz can or 15 oz can of tomato sauce?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I've made it and used the quart jar to measure. Filled the jar a little over 3/4 full and added a big can of tomatoes with juice. It turned out perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  15. As a general rule of "no drain" pasta, you use double the water of the weight of pasta. So for 12 oz of pasta, use 24 oz of water (3 cups).

    ReplyDelete
  16. for the lasagna option: how much tomato sauce?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Experienced cook or not, adding to taste or not, It helps to have ALL the ingredients listed so as not to be surprised with missing ingredients when actually cooking the recipe. I mean, tomatoes and tomato sauce can be kept on hand, but shredded mozzerella cheese, not so much. And what's lasagna without dripping mozz?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Lasagna calls for tomato sauce, not referenced anywhere????

    ReplyDelete
  19. When you say 1/2 cup of mix, what is the mix?

    ReplyDelete
  20. It’s the top recipe

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wow, I needed and enjoyed the water banter. You are all the best.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Can you just add the noodles to the jar and seal it ?

    ReplyDelete
  23. You are to vague in your recipes, I'll look for them elsewhere

    ReplyDelete
  24. The amount of water that worked best for me using these recipes and 1lb of ground beef is the amount that fits in the jar that it's packed in. Helps get all the spices out and Cooks the pasta perfectly. Hope that helps.
